An independent local guide — with a real name attached to it.

The 701 List isn't a faceless national directory scraping the whole country. It's one person who works in this market every day, vetting local pros the way you'd want a knowledgeable neighbor to.

Why this exists

I built The 701 List because when I went looking for a good local contractor myself, all I found were national directories that list whoever paid them and Facebook threads with three replies. Nobody was actually vetting who's good in North Dakota — so I started doing it, one trade, one town at a time.

When you search "best roofer in Bismarck" today, you get national directories that list whoever paid them, and Facebook threads where three people chime in. Nobody was actually pulling the reviews from every platform and scoring them honestly — the same way for everyone. So The 701 List does, with one transparent formula, published for anyone to read.

Real reviews, not vibes

Rankings come from real customer reviews across Google, Yelp, and Facebook — one formula, the same for everyone. We don't list who paid; we list who earned it.

Local on purpose

This is built in North Dakota, for North Dakota. We cover Bismarck and Mandan now, and we're adding towns one at a time — the right way, not the fast way.

Never for sale

Businesses can buy a clearly-labeled featured spot. They can't buy a ranking. That line is the whole reason this list is worth reading.
